What Does A DJ Cost Anyways?

One of the first things we are asked is “how much do you charge?” It’s an understandable question – because it’s the bottom line. Owners, Dan DeBruin and Greg Young, have designed entertainment packages for weddings of all sizes and budgets. As a general rule of thumb, you will read from wedding experts that your reception entertainment should be roughly 9 – 10% of your total budget. An article in ‘Modern Bride’ magazine recently stated that a DJ is 80% responsible for the success of your reception. And that the DJ is what your guests will remember years after your reception.

Just like buying a car or a home, when planning your wedding you should sit down and budget the items of importance. Find out what you are working with for a total budget and plan accordingly. You will be surprised how quickly it all adds up! As with any service or product that you purchase the reputation and quality determine the price.

Northeast DJ’s offers reception entertainment which can consist of state of the art sound and lighting equipment, wireless microphones, theatrical/ambient lighting throughout your entire venue, videography services, wedding websites, video invitations and/or greetings. In addition we can offer photo montages, video montages as well as flat screen televisions and/or projection screens.

Our best recommendation is to set up a consultation. At this time we will be able to sit down together, discuss the details of your reception, understand your vision and begin determining your entertainment needs. We will work within your budget to design a package that will be unique for you while meeting your needs.
